Adrenal Fatigue is a topic of much conversation lately with my patients, and chances are you have heard of it too. Adrenal Fatigue has been coined the disease of the 21st century. We are all ‘wired and tired’ with the stress of work, family, and balancing it all. The adrenal glands are in charge of secreting cortisol, our stress hormone. When we are stressed or under pressure, the adrenals secrete cortisol, which essentially floors our body’s gas pedal and gives us the energy we need for that situation. But bodies, like cars, can’t continually go for 75 mph without slowing down and having time to recharge once in awhile. But with our continually hectic schedules that is what we are expecting of ourselves. When I talk with my patients about adrenal fatigue, inevitably we discuss how they relax best, and if they are taking the time to do those things that recharge them, because it is an integral part of their healing process. Sometimes the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (relax and digest) nervous systems are out of sync which makes it difficult for us to relax. That’s what the Life Vessel does best; it realigns these two opposite nervous systems and helps us get back into balance.

Healthy Colorado - Adrenal fatigueI had a session at Life Vessel of the Rockies this weekend and it was amazing! The owner, Gail, explained everything to me and I had the most relaxing hour of my life, surrounded in a lovely wooden chamber on a soft mattress surrounded by rainbow lights and soothing music. I honestly don’t know if I have ever been that relaxed before. I felt lighter, calmer, cleansed and at peace. I’ll be back for more treatments, for sure. Give them a try, and get back into balance.
